R.I.P (So long Sir Sidney)

Posted by Vaibhav Patle on February 1, 2007

Sidney Sheldon died yesterday at age 89. It was Sidney Sheldon among others who got me started reading fiction books. I remember ‘Tell me your dreams’, ‘The Other Side of Midnight’, ‘Bloodline’ etc.

sheldon.jpgWhen I initially graduated from comics and Hardy boys novel, next stop for me was Sheldon books. He wrote enough to satiate the thrill appetite of a teenager. With time, I found his books to be very predictable and lost interest in his books. I didn’t read his last novel “The Other Side Of Me”.

Nevertheless, anyone who can write and write well has a true gift. We lost an artist that left behind a beautiful legacy in print.

He was also the creator of the Emmy-winning “I Dream of Jeannie” TV series and started writing at age of 50.

Goodbye, Mr. Sheldon and rest in peace.
